22 July 2025

We’re constantly on the lookout for brands that inspire us. In fact, our designer keeps an ongoing inspiration list organised by industry. Below, we’re sharing the top six from our inspo list of food industry brands.

1. Alta: Chic Italian Restaurant

This Australian-based restaurant is serving more than just delicious-looking Italian food. The elegant simplicity of the food on their menu is mirrored in the clean layout of their design. Their strong serif wordmark pays homage to traditional Italian trattorias while establishing them as a modern, unique, and stylish brand.

Their website is simple and functional, but beautifully considered. The minimalist design tells you everything you need to know with subtle pops of warm imagery. The embedded booking system is a nice touch for the user experience.

Uncool canned food is made fun by Heyday Canning Co. Their usually non-glamorous product of canned soups and stews is completely transformed by a loud, fun, delicious-looking brand. 6. Pepette

It’s not only human food brands that can be utterly delicious. Pepette is a French pet food company that’s nailed its look. They use almost no colour but inject fun and playfulness with adorable pet and food illustrations.

The serif typography looks like it’s made to be used in French. It’s elegant and youthful, and the overall look will have stylish pet parents clicking ‘add to cart’. On their website, the imagery adds a feeling of warmth, and wonderful elements such as the ticker bar below bring it all together. Who knew dog food could look so cute?

Bonus: Olio

We’re biased on this one, but the yet-to-launch Olio website packs a punch. The iconic identity, designed by Thomas Pepler, pays homage to oval shapes and the layered typography of vintage alcohol bottles. We designed the website to exude elegance while highlighting the locally sourced, natural ingredients and impeccable quality of the canned cocktails. The striking photography and playful copy come together to get the viewer asking, “When can I try it?”.
